Artist's Description
Located between Lake Constance in the east, the Rhine River in the south and the Danube River in the north, the Hegau is an extinct volcanic landscape in southern Germany. The area is dotted with the remains of ancient fortresses, many of them destroyed during the Napoleonic Wars.
