Artist's Description
The Maidan Nezalezhnosti, or Maidan for short, is the central square of Kiev. The square was the site of violent clashes between protesters and the police, ending in the February 2014 Ukrainian revolution. During a photo assignment, I found a severely damaged doll in a ditch, symbolizing the struggle for democracy and peace.
